Rico Turchetti was a true innovator, he was the one that adapted a non-pedal lap steel into an 8 pedal steel guitar for the first time anywhere because the commercial models had only 4-6 pedals mounted on the left side, and he also created a unique mechanism that he used to raise and lower the individual strings.
